What player could have a breakout season?
There could be two. Right fielder Brian Giles hit a career-low .263 last year with just 14 home runs. He will hit No. 2, meaning he won’t be asked to supply power at Petco, and his tendency to draw walks could spark the top of the lineup. Shortstop Khalil Greene has yet to play a full year due to injuries. If Greene stays healthy he could be an All-Star. He’s hit around .400 in spring training and his defense is as good as anybody in the league.
