what plants work with clay soil?
My daughter and her husband live in Findlay. The soil is mainly of clay consistency and she believes there is always a possibility of flooding. She needs assistance with which trees, bushes and other plants will work best with this ground and weather. Ohio soil tends to be clay, which often isn’t ideal for growing plants. Plants will grow – just not as large and wonderful as we would expect or want. The problem with clay is that it holds water at the expense of air. The lack of air in the soil limits the overall growth of a plant’s roots. The key to growing healthy plants in this environment is good bed preparation.
