What plants and animals are native to the park?
There are a variety of ecosystems in Thetis Lake Regional Park, including lakes, wetlands, creeks, rocky hilltops and outcroppings, Garry oak meadows, Arbutus groves and coastal Douglas-fir forests. These ecosystems support many species that are at risk of extinction, including 29 plants, 13 invertebrates, and nine rare vertebrates. Examples are listed below.
