What plant characteristics typically do not appeal to deer?
Plants with thorns and stickers are usually passed up by deer. Many plants, (mostly herbs like rosemary, oregano, etc.) that have a strong pungent odor also tend to turn the not so timid creatures off. They DO like plants that have water laden foliage, especially in a drought or a low rainfall time of the year.
