What placement tests must be taken and when?
Students will enroll in math, chemistry, and foreign language (French, German, Italian, Spanish) courses based on placement examinations, AP Exam scores, or previous college course credit. Mathematics placement testing will be offered in May and June at sites throughout California. The Math Placement Exam is required for all new students before enrollment in any math courses unless you meet one of the exemptions. The Math Testing Website lists exemptions, times, places and maps. We urge you to take one of the May/June tests, if you do not have one of the exemptions, so you will be able to enroll in a math course during online enrollment in August and September. Chemistry and Language placement exams will be available online. You are required to take the chemistry and language placement exams unless you have one of the exemptions. You should take these placement exams in early July.
