What philosophical value does Religion have, if any?

In my opinion, they are somewhat philosophical tales and that they contain metaphorical teachings behind them, a condensed version of higher philosophy if you will. But most of the valuable teachings of religions are commonly ignored by the masses, as politics continuously ripple them.

That’s a very bland question and one you may get some very strange, off-topic (no doubt) answers to. Religion, theology, is the bases for much of philosophy – from Plato to St Augustine, Aristotle to Aquinas, the vast majority of our world’s greatest philosophers have based much of their belief in God and their theological journies – because often the greatest minds are the first to realise that the feeling we have we are “not quite” satisfied with what we do on this world, maybe we aren’t made for this world. And the search for truth ultimately leads to theology and philosophical study.
