What pet should i get, ferret or sugar glider?
I don’t have experience with sugar gliders, but I know they are not very social and don’t like to be handled. And I understand they are expensive. From what you’ve said, you sound like exactly the wrong person to own a ferret. You’ll need more money than that for start up costs, then more for regular care. Ferrets don’t enjoy much cuddling, they would rather be played with. You’ll encounter the rare ferret that will tolerate being held, but not often. They need much more attention than a dog. Mine gets about 6 hours of playtime a day. Also, they are not rodents. I don’t know about the UK, but most colleges won’t allow ferrets in dorm rooms (some allow rodents, but not many). I’m having trouble figuring out how to take my ferret to school with me in the fall. I would also suggest getting a rodent. Rats are social and very smart, but you need at least two.
