What personal skills or qualities are needed to become a Painter?
A Painter is one who is engaged in the preparation and application of sealants and other protective or decorative coatings on a variety of surfaces and materials. Most Painters learn their skills on the job, often starting out as an apprentice to older, skilled Painters. While it is often thought that Painting is a low-skill job, good Painters will disagree; since good Painters do much more than just slop coatings onto things. Painters often need to know a lot about the various materials they will be coating, so they will know which products will work best for a particular painting project. Very often, Painters must spend much more time on preparing the surfaces they are to paint than it takes to actually paint them. A good Painter will always take the time to prepare adequately, since that is such an important first step in doing a good painting job. There are no specific educational requirements to become a Painter, although some technical schools provide Painting related studies. In
