Police car wrecks and cars wrecked in police chases. Much criticized, police pursuits result in 300-400 deaths a year to both Law enforcement officers, criminals fleeing and innocent bystanders. According to FBI Law Enforcement stats: most police chases begin with a routine traffic violation. Nearly one percent of all United States law enforcement officers who died in the line-of-duty lost their lives in vehicle chases, Innocent third parties who just happen to be in the way are roughly 33 to 40 percent of people killed or injured in police pursuits. The problem remains but what is the solution? Police can’t very well let criminals run away. Drive safe! Sources: http://www.car-accidents.com/police-car-accidents-crash.
