What percentage of expenditures are spent on program activities?
Note that over 94% of all cash donations to Global Hope go directly to meet mission needs. There are very few hidden overhead or staff costs. Global Hope is operated by volunteers in the United States , none of whom accept compensation for what we do. Our missionaries in Romania raise all of their own funds through gifts directed for their support. Ninety-nine cents of every dollar contributed to the Global Hope general fund goes directly to meet the needs of the children in Romania . Global Hope Inc. is a non-profit organization and is recognized as such under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All gifts to Global Hope are fully tax deductible and are gratefully acknowledged.
Throughout the years, Compassion has consistently averaged more than 80 percent of total expenditures being used for program activities, with less than 20 percent being used for fund raising and administration. During the past five years, the actual program percentage has averaged nearly 82 percent. We use conservative accounting methods that do not inflate our effectiveness in this regard.
