The number of employees from minority ethnic communities in the Directorate was 120 (2.55%) in September 2002 and has increased to 147 (3.2%) in March 2004. 5.2% of the overall working population of Lancashire are from black and minority ethnic backgrounds. This demonstrates that Social Services has some way to go to achieve the corporate target and to accurately reflect the population which it services.
