What percentage of donations actually goes to help individuals and how much goes for management and salaries of United Way ?
Nearly 80 percent of funds raised goes back into the community to help where help is needed most. Because of outstanding community support and volunteer board of directors, fundraising, management and general expenses (including rent, insurance, salary for two full-time employees, taxes and benefits, office supplies, postage, etc.) are about 20 percent of the total operating budget. Compared with the national average of nearly 25 percent, you will see that United Way is cost-efficient.
