What percentage of CIR applicants ends up participating in the JET Program?
Because there are relatively few CIR positions, we cannot predict the acceptance rate of CIRs in any given year. The rate depends on how many positions open up in Japan and how many apply for the CIR position. Based on experience at the Consulate General of Japan at Chicago, once a CIR reaches the interview stage s/he has around an 80-90% chance of being accepted.
