What Percent of People Go to College?
Thankfully the percent of people who go to college is increasing. As of 2002, 21-25% of high school graduates went on to some additional schooling. Around 15% of those achieve some degree. Unfortunately this number is still astonishingly low compared to the education systems of other countries. It has been on the rise, and currently there are more adults returning to school to complete their degree, start a new course of study or to retrain to change fields. Projections are that there will be 17.5 million students enrolled in 2010.
