How far apart are floor joist on center? Ours are on edge on 12″ centers with 3/4″ C.D.X. plywood decking for maximum strength. B. Walls- 1. How far apart are their wall studs? If they are spaced more than 16″ on centers the exterior siding will bow between studs. Manufacturers of wood siding stamp on every sheet of siding that they recommend 16″ on center studding for all walls!! 2. Do they use air staplers or air nailers on exterior siding? This damages your siding and opens it up to moisture to enter where the nails or staples are forced into the siding 1/8″ to 3/16″.
