What particle size measurements are available?
Several measurement methods are available at H.C. Starck. Please note, that a product is usually measured only by one measurement method. • Sieve analysis: According to ASTM B 214 • FSSS (Fisher Sub Sieve Sizer): According to ASTM B 330 The FSSS method defines a mean particle size by passing an air stream through a powder compact (permeability). • Laser diffraction: For the measurement, the powder is dispersed in a liquid, to get a dispersion. Applying ultra sound to the dispersion breaks up agglomerates. Laser diffraction data are usually finer than data from sieve analysis. H.C.
