What part of the overall UT budget is tuition?
Systemwide, tuition accounts for only 9.3 percent of the total UT System budget. Other sources of funds include state tax dollars; federal, state, and private-sector grants; and donations. Last fiscal year the UT System raised $566 million in donations from the private sector. Many, if not most, private donations are made for specific purposes and use of the money is restricted for those purposes.
