What paperwork needs to be filed in the Lake County Recorder of Deeds Office when forming or changing an Illinois corporation?
The good news is that there are no additional forms. The County utilizes the same form as the state. After filing & receiving your documents (BCA-2.10) back from the state, you must submit that same original document to the Lake County Recorder of Deeds Office for recording. This may be done in person on the second floor of the County Building or by mail. If you mail it in, please write the words “MAIL TO” somewhere on the document followed by the address where the original document should be mailed back to after processing. Please refer to our fee schedule to determine the applicable recording fees charged by our office in accordance with state regulations. Visit the Illinois Secretary of State Business Services Department for information on how to keep your business in good standing. For further information regarding Illinois corporations, please contact the Chief Deputy Recorder at 847.377.2062 or send him an email at recorder@lakecountyil.gov.
