What other programs or Federal Agencies does NIMS STEP collaborate with?
The NIMS STEP works closely with DHS Science and Technology Directorate’s Test & Evaluation and Standards section. The Test & Evaluation and Standards section works across DHS and ensures that systems meet the capability needs of users, validates performance and provides measurable improvement to operational capabilities. The program also works closely with DHS’s Command, Control and Interoperability Division. The mission of the DHS’s Command, Control and Interoperability Division is to transform new and promising concepts into real operational capabilities. Managed by the Science and Technology Directorate, the Division is working with Federal partners to strengthen communications interoperability, improve Internet security and integrity, and accelerate the development of automated capabilities to help identify potential national threats.
