What other plants and animals lived in Gondwana?
Many other plants and animals lived on Gondwana. We have found many different fossil species on continents that were part of Gondwana, and more are being found every year. The ancestors to modern marsupials, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and many plants such as ginkgoes, cycads, many pines, and flowering plants appear in the fossil record from Gondwana. A good book to look at for more information on animals is “Wildlife of Gondwana” by Pat Vickers-Rich and Tom Rich, while “Greening of Gondwana” by Mary White has lots of information about Gondwanan plants.
