The Canada Labour Code and the regulations pursuant thereto are the primary sources of federal employment and labour law. At the provincial level, there are statutes governing collective bargaining, such as, in the case of Ontario, the Ontario Labour Relations Act. In Qubec, these statutes are the Labour Standards Act, the Quebc Labour Code and the Civil Code of Qubec. As well, there are numerous other statutory provisions at the provincial level that govern the employer/employee relationship.
