What other jobs are there for 16 year olds besides fast food restaurants?

I’ve been babysitting since I was 14, and I’m now 18. I get paid $10 an hour. Beats any fast food joint. Other than that, there’s always walmart, or target, i’m sure. There’s grocery clerks, and such, cashier at any store. uhm, Movie Theaters. Stores in the mall usually don’t take under 18… however you could join a telemarket team, or phone operators, and of course nicer restaurants you could probably be a hostess, or dish washer, bus boy, or even a waitress. Sometimes working at restaurants can be pretty gross though. Waiting tables can pay much better than other jobs that are open to 16 year olds. The base pay is low, but the majority of the income comes from tips. In America, there probably isn’t much difference in pay between the various jobs in a given area that are available to a 16-year-old with no work experience. So instead, look for a job that either interests you, or offers the best work experience, or the best benefits, depending on which is most important to you.

When I was 16 I worked at a movie theatre….not very hard work (although I did go home smelling like butter all of the time) and free movies, which was great!
