What other initiatives are available for students who demonstrate scholarly ability?
Emerging Leaders The Emerging Leaders Program is sponsored by the Student Programs Office and is designed to identify students with particular leadership potential. Students in the program are assigned a mentor who assists with setting goals, identifying gifts and skills, and reflecting on the nature and challenge of leadership. The program builds on the students’ academic program but is centered in the cocurriculum. The Emerging Leaders Program is open to first-year students. The Dean’s List Students achieving a grade point average of 3.6 or higher are placed on the Dean’s List at the end of each semester. Dean’s List students are recognized at the annual College Convocation in the fall and are invited to attend a dinner in their honor during the spring semester. The College’s Marketing and Public Relations Office also notifies various media in the student’s hometown of the student’s achievement. Students may earn Dean’s List recognition throughout their college career. Scholar Intern
