Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you are using any of the following drugs: methadone (Methadose, Dolophine) ribavirin (Copegus, Rebetron, Virazole) interferon (Rebetron, Roferon, Intron, Alferon, Infergen, Avonex, Rebif, Betaseron, Actimune) sulfa drugs such as Bactrim or Septra doxorubicin (Adriamycin) ganciclovir (Cytovene) emtricitabine (Emtriva, Truvada) abacavir (Ziagen) abacavir and lamivudine (Epzicom) lamivudine and zidovudine (Combivir); or these other HIV medicines – lamivudine (3TC, Epivir), stavudine (Zerit), or zidovudine (Retrovir) If you are using any of these drugs, you may not be able to take Trizivir, or you may need dosage adjustments or special monitoring during treatment. There may be other drugs not listed that can affect Trizivir. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use.
