What other criteria do selection officers consider when selecting students?
Entry for some programs is determined by ENTER results alone. For other programs, entry can be determined by performance at interview; quality of your portfolio; performance in an entry test such as STAT test; or even a combination of all of these things. Selection officers will also take into consideration any additional information you may have provided on your ‘SI’ (Supplementary Information) form in your initial application. To find out what criteria a selection officer will be using when making selection decisions, look at the program entry in the VTAC Guide 2009. Each program entry has a Selection Mode section. This section will tell you what factors are considered when assessing suitability of applicants. NY12 applicants are considered on an individual basis depending on the applicant’s educational background. For more information regarding criteria for selection go to the VTAC Guide 2009, p16.
