What organs does colon cancer spread to?
Colon cancer tends to spread (“metastasize”) most often to the liver. Symptoms would include jaundice (turning yellow), pain in the right side, liver enlargement (usually only detectable by a doctor, but you might notice it if you felt under your ribs), and blood clots. Colon cancer can also spread to the lung; this is about 25% of cases that involve a spread as opposed to about 50% of metastases being found in the liver. Colon cancer that spreads to another organ is still known as colon cancer.
