All 2009-10 permits for gated areas will have a magnetic stripe on the back that will allow the customer to swipe it through the reader to open the gate. Customers select the method of access they prefer from any of the following options: • Swipe your permit (details) • Swipe your TAMU ID card (details) • Use a hands-free transponder (where available) Access Device Availability Chart All access for new customers will be set up initially to swipe the permit to open the gates. Customers will be able to log on to My Account and change their access method. More on garage parking. Ex: If you normally use a hands-free transponder but forgot to take it with you when you switched vehicles, log on to My Account and change your access to either swipe the permit or swipe your TAMU ID card. Then when you retrieve your hands-free transponder, log back on to My Account and change your access back. Your requested access method should be activated within 45 minutes of the time you submit the request.
