Basement window wells do not need to be ugly little protrusions with little light getting into the room. I saw a multi million $ home in Aspen, CO. where they had exaggerated the window wells, making them run several feet out from the windows. They looked like sunken window boxes, filled with flowers and both the room and the planting beds got lots of light. Xlnt way of ‘when you have a lemon, make lemonade’.
