What options are available to a plaintiff when their lawyer failed to file a post trial motion?

The plaintiff repeatedly objected to some of the issues (ie: jury foreman employed by defendant) and begged the attorney to exercise other options but he didnt even mention the possibility of a post trial motion when the jury ruled in defendants favor in a premise liability, personal injury case.
