What opportunities will there be for public input into what happens with Skillman Village?
Public participation is a very important part of the redevelopment planning for Skillman Village. In addition to meeting all the legal requirements for public participation, the Township is committed to meaningful public engagement in the form of charettes, workshops and public meetings during the preparation of the redevelopment plan. Typically, a charette brings together stakeholders in a workshop format where participants form small groups to discuss an issue so that alternative designs are generated for review and discussion by the full group. It is an important way for residents to get involved early in the process. Further, the public will have the opportunity to meet the final development firms being considered for the redevelopment.
