What opportunities do parents have to socialize and build community?
The School of the Madeleine provides many communication opportunities between parents, staff, students and all members of the Madeleine community and every family is expected to volunteer at least 20 service hours to the school. There are countless opportunities for parents to volunteer and become part of the Madeleine community: The School Board, Committees of the School Board (Marketing Committee, Finance Committee) the Parents’ Association, Events planning committees, classroom volunteering or help with our vast sports program. The school understands that some parents can help the school a great deal while others do not have a lot of extra time but parent involvement encouraged and required. The Family Handbook notes that those who do not have time to fulfill this expectation can purchase these hours at a fee.
