What opportunities are there in design and technical theatre?
We offer courses in stage design, lighting design, costume design, stage management, theatre management, drafting, crafts for the stage, etc. All theatre majors receive a background in design; students who pursue more advanced design training may also receive the opportunity to design in our Second Stage series. Some of our exceptional students have also designed for the mainstage. • Do you have to audition to get into the program? No, you don’t have to audition to get into the theatre program. You need to be admitted into the University, and then you declare either a major or a minor in theatre. We do have auditions for scholarships in theatre. These auditions are held each February and are available to incoming freshmen and transfer students.
