What opportunities are available for an international social work practicum?
Opportunities for international practica are available during the summer term and are arranged based on your individual interests, academic performance in the first year, the availability of the organization with supervision to accommodate your learning needs, and the general safety of the region in which you are interested. The Field Education Office must review and approve any proposed international placement opportunities. Summer internships overseas are also available through the University’s Human Rights Program. This program makes it possible for 20 students to spend three months each summer working at human rights organizations abroad. For those wishing to spend a summer abroad for general non-academic credit learning experiences, the University’s Community Service Center posts internships, language schools, and volunteer opportunities throughout the world.
