What obligations does Connexions have with regards to information sharing?
Connexions partnerships are required to operate within the Data Protection and Human Rights Acts. Partnerships have been developing agreements for information sharing within the principles of the Acts. Young people must give their informed consent before any information they give to Connexions personal advisers about themselves can be recorded or shared with other agencies. Consent should be in writing and the personal adviser has a responsibility to ensure that the young person understands what is proposed and their right to withdraw consent at any time.
