What notice does the tenant get before being evicted?
If a tenant does not pay the rent on time, the landlord can immediately begin the eviction process by following the procedure discussed below. However, in many instances, tenants can stop the eviction by paying the rent owed (and any late fees specified in the lease). If the tenant is holding over or has breached the lease, the landlord must give the tenant one months advance written notice ending the lease before going to court. However, if the tenant has acted in a way that constitutes a threat to the safety of others only 14 days notice is required.
