What, no timing rules?
Good gosh no! The only thing you need to know about timing is that a Special card played later always takes precedence over a Special card played sooner! Once Special cards are played, the one played last affects the ones played before it, and then the next one down, and so on (last in, first out), This is usually obvious, but it is worth a mention here. Of course, use your common sense as well, that’s why it’s there!
