What new Windows Azure announcements are being made at PDC 10?
At PDC 10, we will be announcing new Windows Azure functionality that provides developers with greater control and flexibility of their Windows Azure environment, and makes it easier to run existing Windows applications on Windows Azure. This new functionality provides better support for Enterprises, more affordable platform access and an improved Windows Azure experience. The features that will become available later this year (2010) include the Virtual Machine role; Virtual Network; elevated privileges for Web and Worker role; full IIS support; support for Windows Server 2008 R2 in the web, worker and VM role; the Windows Azure Marketplace and an improved developer and operator experience. Microsoft will also announce that it will be introducing improved enablement of Java, CDN dynamic content caching, CDN SSL Delivery, construction of VM role images in the cloud, support for Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 R2 in the VM role and improved global CDN connectivity in CY2011.
