What new markets do you see Bends TriQuint plant moving into?
I see growth opportunities in military, commercial and space markets, and we don’t see one as being dominant. We want to launch into satellites, commercial satellites. But the quality and inspection criteria for space-qualified materials is extremely high. People who build satellites want them to be extremely reliable because it’s hard to service them up there. This is something TriQuint has experience in, and we want to bring it to Bend. As TriQuint grows, do you expect to run into hurdles with land costs and finding qualified workers? We don’t require a lot of land. We have our 13,000-square-foot facility here, and there’s still a lot of expansion we can do in that. We can expand to a factor of three or five without having to increase our physical space. We would, however, need to add people, equipment and internal building modifications. We have two big classes of employees. One is fabrication technicians and processing technicians. These are people who build wafers, packagers and p
