What new Donnie McClurkin projects can we anticipate?
DM: There’s a new DVD out that’s a documentary about my life. We’re doing a movie in February called “Gospel.” I’m just praying! I guess I’m becoming an actor – with an acting coach and everything! The movie is about a young man who sang in the church and became a popular secular singer and is trying to make a decision on what to do next, and the church is pulling at him to come back to what’s right. I play one of the deacons who is trying to reach him. GT: I’ve heard you’re leaving the Gospel Music Industry. Is that true? DM: Yes. I’m making a transition come the end of 2006. GT: Transition to where? What’s next? DM: I’m going to the next place where purpose leads me. I know that it’s pastoring and establishing churches in different places – not just the one church. There are too many people that need to be helped. Right now, it’s all about how many people I can affect, impart into and help become greater than myself.
