What needs to be done before filing a petition under chapter 13?
As per the existing law, one has to take credit counseling under an approved agency within 180 days before filing under chapter 13. The counseling may be taken either in person or via phone or internet.A list of approved credit counseling agencies will be available with the bankruptcy court from which the one which is most convenient could be chosen.
