What Naval Battle During World War II Caused The Greatest Loss Of Life?

I would be very tempted to say the “Battle of the Atlantic” because this lasted the entire length of the war. I’m going to say the Battle of Stalingrad though, I know it was primarily in the city of Stalingrad but as most if not all Russians had to cross the Volga to reinforce their efforts and the life expectancy was less than an hour for a soldier…. Sounds awfully deadly to me, be it at sea or over a river.
