What natural insecticide does Mosquito Works use?
Pyrethrum is the primary component in our liquid solutions. Pyrethrum is extracted from a specific type of Chrysanthemum. Pyrethrum is typically mixed with a synergist allowing lower levels of the Pyrethrum to be more effective against the insects. Our solutions use a Piperonyl Butoxide (PBO) as the synergist. The PBO is mixed with the Pyrethrum in a 5-to-1 (25%PBO-5%Pyrethrum) or 10-to-1 (30%PBO-3%Pyrehtrum) ratio. These two active ingredients are combined with an emulsion system, which prevents product separation in the reservoir. The final additive is water. Water comprises more than 99.3% of the final mixture. None of our liquid solutions contain petroleum distillate additives. There will be no oily walls, windows, or patios to contend with and no petroleum to ingest.
