I don’t think the Scottish make up the majority of the SAS, however there are a number of Scots serving within the regiment. Obviously the SAS don’t release figures relating to such issues. However I am sure there will no doubt be a higher percentage of Geordies, Scousers, Tykes and other Brits from tough areas serving in the SAS. The Scottish currently make up 10% of the British Army and 8% of the UK population, then again other areas of the UK such as Geordies, Brummies, Scousers, Cockneys, the Welsh, Northern Irish loyalists, probably have a disproportionate level of population serving in the British Army.
