What names should be given to input files?
SADBELsyslink can handle any input file regardless of it’s name and extension. Nevertheless, special attention should be given to the names. The user will have to initiate a new declaration based on the name of the file. It is therefore a good idea to create filenames that have a meaning to the user. This could be for instance a shipment number, a job number, a file number, etc. Second consideration is the fact that the content of the input file will determine if an import, export or transit document should be made. Therefore, and depending on the chosen approach, it might be necessary to include this information as part of the filename. Third and last consideration is about the file extension. If the user specifies no extension, SADBELplus will assume that the extension is .txt. If you want to spare the user from specifying the filename’s extension, always use .txt.
