What music did teens growing up in the 1930s generally enjoy?
Every adult was once a teenager. What teenagers enjoyed in the 1930s and 1940s, they continued to enjoy as they became adults. Now, these former teenagers of the 1930s and 1940s are old people in their 80s and 90s, and the music that they enjoyed as teenagers — and probably still enjoy — is now thought of as “old peoples’ music”. In the same way, the music that is popular among teenagers today will someday be thought of as “old peoples’ music” by future generations.
