“1984” of course. “Brazil” i think was loosely based on the novel. It might be a stretch, but “The Recruit” has sort of a brainwashing theme to it. “A Clockwork Orange” is very violent and sexually charged, and it’s based on a totally different novel by a different author, but in that story, brainwashing is used as a clinical treatment. Somebody mentioned “Fahrenheit 451,” that would be a good one. More modern features might be “A Scanner Darkly” with Keanu Reeves, “Renaissance” with Daniel Craig. If you can find a copy, online or something, “A Brave New World” is a book with a different plot, but similar ideas, and it was made into a made-for-TV movie a couple times.
