What movies best show the upper-class male fashions of the 1920s?
Fashions changed a great deal in the 1920s, as they do in each decade usually. I would not trust Hollywood recreations. Instead, go to the source and find some films from the Twenties if possible. You might try doing a search for images or YouTube clips from some of these. Just note that some titles have a number of versions: Madame X (1929) Brown of Harvard (1926) Hollywood Revue of 1929 Bulldog Drummond (1929) The Last of Mrs. Cheyney (1929) Gold Diggers of Broadway (1929) There aren’t many films showing those styles because Hollywood produced relatively few films for many decades, unlike what we have now. “The Roaring Twenties” (1939) might show some fashions and should be fairly reliable since it was made closer to that period. The Robert Redford version of “The Great Gatsby” might be fairly close.
