What movie is the John Wayne quote “Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway” from ?
I greatly doubt that John Wayne ever said that, in any movie or anywhere else. Because I checked through over 8 pages of Google search listings, and found that in the more than 80 case I looked at, where that quotation appeared, not a single one of the quoters mentioned a movie or any other source. The quote often appeared in informal blogs and was typically introduced by some such comment as “As John Wayne once said ….” In other words, it just looked like an expression that people just parroted, without ever citing a source or ever knowing one. I’ll bet no one ever gives you a source. This sort of thing happens all the time. Somebody comes up with what they think is a wise or smart saying, and then to make it sound more impressive, they attribute it to some famous person –often to Einstein or Abraham Lincoln … or, as in this case, to John Wayne.
