What moves in yoga require flexibility?
That’s a wide question, since there are so many poses, some of which to varying degrees, are just variations of a given pose. Asanas (poses) are one or more combinations of following three dynamics: 1) balance 2) flexibility 3) strength (the one exception being Savasana (corpse pose), which is the pose of total relaxation). Generally, the easier poses are those which require only one of these dynamics at a time. Example: A seated forward bend with legs apart (Upavistha Konasana) requires flexibility, but essentially no balance or strength. However, Chaturanga Dandasana requires quite a bit of strength, with little if any flexibility or balance.
