Topaz is the birthstone for the month of November. Citrine is also considered one of the birthstones for this month, but Topaz was accepted on the charts much earlier on. When Citrine was discovered, it was used as a birthstone because it was more affordable. While there are many different colors of Topaz available, Imperial Topaz (which is a shade of orange/yellow) is the birthstone that is accepted for this month.
